YSL Pure Chromatic Eye Shadow Palettes

YSL Pure Chromatics shadow Palette No. 7, No. 8, No. 9

After working for the Valentino A/W12 show at Four Season hotel yesterday, my 2 make up artists and I decided to check out the YSL cosmetics counter at IFC mall.

YSL has always been one of my favorite make up brands as their quality is like their YSL handbags - tasteful & luxurious design, high quality & fine but at a more affordable price :)

So we have spent quite a long time (for sure longer than 60 minutes) and fortune at the counter :)

I bought 2 new Summer Pure Chromatics shadows - No 8, No 9 (HKD550 each)
and a lot more other YSL cosmetics, I shall review to you girls in the coming post.

The special feature of this shadow is that it contains high concentration of pigments and pearls which can be mixed, smudged and blended. Plus you can apply it either DRY or WET!

What does that mean?

DRY - you can use your fingertips (I prefer using the 4th finger) or a eyeshadow brush to apply for a soft and natural look. I guess this is nothing new and special to any of you as most shadow can be applied in this "DRY" way.

WET - wet your brush by dipping it to a small pot of water (it would be hard to wet your fingertips to do so in this case), then apply it onto the shadow.
Make sure the brush is not too wet. I suggest one dip of water is enough.
You will figure it out if you have dipped too much water onto your brush as the shadow will be very diluted. Apply onto your eyelid and you will feel a bit icy at first.
If you want to blend it with your fingertips after applying with the brush, go ahead!
This can help to create a very strong and even a metallic smokey eyes as the shadow is re-moisturized by the water that gives full intensity to its pigments while pearls shine with a metallic reflection.

Try it and you would love it as the shadow tends to stay ALL NIGHT LONG while PARTY ALL NIGHT LONG!

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW

I have recently used this Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW new foundation on my clients and make up class. I give 4.5 stars out of 5 to it!
The reason why I like it is that it's very smooth and moisturizing as you can either create a very thin layer of foundation with it if you have great skin.

If you don't have flawless skin, it is able to cover most of the pimples, scars and red spots on the face with slightly thicker application.

With the SPF 25 and PA+++, you no longer need to apply the sun screen before you apply this foundation. Highly recommend to all the girls who want to have flawless skin :)

Plus it comes with 9 different shades, therefore, you can easily find a color to match with your skin tone.
My suggestion is to buy 2 different shades (one closer to your regular skin tone, the other one or two shades darker). This way, when you get a bit of tan or a lot of tan (like me usually get "quite" dark in the summer) then you can match the 2 foundation in order to have the perfect skin color on your face!

Becca Radiance Primer

Becca Radiance Primer

A lot of girls like wearing make up, but maybe a lot of the students I taught they don't normally wear a make up base/primer.

Make up base/primer is very important as it helps to act as a barrier between your skin and the cosmetics so as to prevent cosmetics harming your skin. Although a lot of the cosmetics brands are really good quality nowadays, you still need a base before you apply liquid foundation.

For Make up Base/Primer, my favorite is Becca's Radiance Primer. It gives such a natural glow and allows your skin to radiant to create more dimension.

Asian features tend to be less dimensional, therefore, to enhance your features, it's great to have a glow on the face. This Radiance Primer can be applied to all parts of your face. But if you have more oily skin, I recommend you to use Becca's Resurfacing Primer to apply on T-zone areas and use Becca's Radiance Primer to apply on the 2 sides of the cheekbones, chin and around the forehead. Then this way, it can still create a glowy look without looking too shiny.

Try it, you will love it!

Feel free to ask me anything, I would like to share my knowledge of make up skills with all the ladies :)
